Samhain

Samhain was a music & arts festival which took it's name from the Gaelic tradition that marks the end of the harvest season. Samhain was also said to be a time when the door to the 'otherworld' is opened – very similar to Halloween.

Keen to avoid the cliches when combing traditional & modern styles I created a series of textures using elements that were prominent in Gaelic & Pagan mythology – black horses, crows, skulls, etc. I then chose a typographic style for the event which reflected Gaelic symbols & also the runic alphabet.
