The Eyes Of Orson Welles

The sheer enthusiasm and devotion that Mark Cousins takes in his approach to writing about talking about film is infectious. It's hard to imaging loving the medium as much as clearly does.
If you caught his 15 part documentary The Story of Film: An Odyssey you'll probably have a good idea of what to expect from his new documentary; The Eyes Of Orson Welles.
Luckily i'm already a massive fan of Welles, having read two of Simon Callow's three books on him (fourth book coming soon). I'd also recommend the slightly broader documentary Magician: The Astonishing Life and Work of Orson Welles

Also If you've not heard the story before it's worth reading up on the time Orson spent in Ireland at the age of just 15. Especially his time at Dublin's Gate Theatre

The Eyes of Orson Welles is in UK cinemas from 21st August 2018.
